Title: Dynamic modelling of the chromosphere of $\alpha$ Tau.
Abstract: Using one-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamics simulations a model of the outer atmosphere of $\alpha$ Tau is created. The reaction of the model to acoustic waves is explored. Results from this modelling will be compared with the uv chromospheric emission spectrum to investigate whether acoustic waves can produce suitable conditions within the atmosphere to generate the observed spectrum.
