Title: Temperature, density, and abundance diagnostics of the two separate components of alpha Centauri and of Procyon
Abstract: High-resolution ( $\Delta\lambda \sim 0.06$Å) X-ray spectra have been obtain ed with the Chandra-LETGS in the wavelength region from 5-175 A of the coronae of the separated components of the nearby binary Alpha- Centauri (G2V + K1V) and of the corona of the F5 subgiant Procyon. Using the SPEX90 code, developed at SRON, we have analyzed in detail the coronal temperature structure by multi-temperature and emission measure modeling and the electron density based on the forbidden/intercombination line ratios of the He-like triplets of C, N, and O. The global multi-temperature fitting gives also results for the elemental abundances. The derived physical parameters are compared for the three coronae and discussed. Some line identifications for iron lines in the spectra are derived by a comparison with recent results obtained in laboratory experiments (EBIT).
